Dear Members:
Please see the message below from Candace Knoll, Founder & President of the Jr. Black Achievement Awards Society.
Dear CUPE 15 Members:
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you so much to the CUPE 15 Members for the generous donation to the Jr. Black Achievement Awards Society. It is because of organizations such as yourself that we were able to provide this opportunity for our youth. We are truly appreciative of your support.
The educational weekend retreat held March 10 – 12 was a tremendous success and the youth learned a lot about unionism through the Union and Trades Employment Opportunities Panel with participants from HEU, HSA, IBEW, and UNIFOR. We also had participation from CUPE Local 15 President, Warren Williams and Cupe Local 1004, Jackie Pierre for both the panel and speech competition sessions.
Again, we thank you for your support and hope that you are signed up on our website to receive the event notifications and announcements. The next educational session will have the financial literacy workshop as well as the writing workshop to prepare the youth for the essay and writing competitions that are coming up. Our events are open to the public so please visit www.jrbaa.org to sign up and share our event notifications.
Thank you!
Candace Knoll
