CUPE 4600 member from Carleton University, Cihan Erdal, was unjustly detained in Turkey in September 2020, when he was swept up in a mass arrest of politicians, activists, and academics in Istanbul. Since June of this year, he has been conditionally released, but faces strict terms and cannot leave the country.
In order to ramp up support, this new campaign targets newly-appointed cabinet ministers and highlights the latest actions the Canadian government can take to bring him home. You can also watch and share Cihan’s message to CUPE National delegates.
