Dear Members,
On October 30th, the CUPE BC Executive Board passed a motion to proceed with planning a virtual 2021 Annual Convention. At this time, CUPE BC is conducting a brief survey to generate feedback from CUPE Locals towards the successful planning and delivery of its first-ever virtual convention. Please find the survey information below:
Survey Link: Click here
Estimated Completion Time: 5-10 minutes
Closing Date: Friday, November 27th at 4:00pm
For your reference while completing the survey, please also find three proposed schedule outlines below:
FOUR (4) DAY VIRTUAL CONVENTION
The first schedule option CUPE BC is considering is a 4-day virtual convention. The 4-day option most closely resembles that of an in-person convention and would include the following features:
Collective time for Resolutions | 8 hours and 50 minutes |
Committee Reports (verbal & sent in advance) | 7 hours |
Live Election Forum | 1 hour |
Two Live Keynote Speeches | 30 minutes each |
Live CUPE Regional Director Report | 20 minutes |
Moment of Silence |
THREE (3) DAY VIRTUAL CONVENTION
The 3-day option would allow adequate time for resolutions, but would include neither verbal committee reports nor a live election forum:
Collective time for Resolutions | 5 hours and 5 minutes |
Written Committee Reports Only (sent in advance) | 30 minutes for adoption of all reports |
No Live Election Forum | 0 hours |
Two Live Keynote Speeches | 30 minutes each |
Live CUPE Regional Director Report | 20 minutes |
Moment of Silence |
TWO (2) DAY VIRTUAL CONVENTION
The 2-day option would consist of a condensed agenda addressing only the most critical governance components:
Collective time for Resolutions | 3 hours and 20 minutes |
Written Committee Reports Only (sent in advance) | 30 minutes for adoption of all reports |
No Live Election Forum | 0 hours |
One Live Keynote Speech | 30 minutes |
No Live CUPE Regional Director Report | 0 hours |
We thank you in advance for participating in our survey, and we look forward to your feedback. Should you have any questions, please email info@cupe.bc.ca.
