Dear City et al (City of Vancouver, Park Board, Ray-Cam, and Britannia) Members:
Your bargaining committee has met with the employer on eight occasions since we were served notice to bargain in January. Over this time, your committee’s primary focus has been on non-monetary issues. At our meeting on May 30th, the employer tabled a comprehensive settlement – framework document, which included many concessions and a general wage increase that is below the Metro Vancouver pattern.
While the employer has brought their ideas to the table, we believe their proposals do not align with the values and priorities that matter most to you. The parties have a lot of work ahead of them.
Additional dates have been secured to meet with the employer throughout the month of June. The committee will have further communications for the membership in the coming weeks. With continued solidarity, we are working towards a fair and equitable agreement for all.
