Greetings Members,

Please see below the message from CUPE BC President, Karen Ranalletta.

The election campaign officially kicked off last weekend, and we’re now less than four weeks away from the October 19 BC Provincial Election!

This election is critical for those of us who care about strong public services, fair wages, and affordable living in British Columbia. Your vote can help protect the gains we’ve made in recent years, and ensure that progress continues for workers, families, and our communities.

I’ve been connecting with CUPE members like you, and many have shared their concerns: people are worried about how they’ll afford rent, take care of their families, and access healthcare when they need it most.

In recent years, we’ve seen meaningful progress for working people in BC. During their time in government, the BC NDP has:

  • Put money back in our pockets by freezing BC Hydro and ICBC rates
  • Created tens of thousands of new childcare spaces, helping families breathe a little easier
  • Began building new affordable housing for the first time in decades, while strengthening rental protections to help working families find homes
  • Invested billions in healthcare, expanding hospitals and clinics across the province
  • Brought 700 new family physicians to BC in the last two years alone, making it easier for you to access care when you need it

But the work isn’t finished. There’s still so much more to do, and we can’t afford to elect a government that will undo these hard-won gains.

This election isn’t just about politics—it’s about protecting the people and services we all care about. Our families, our coworkers, and our neighbours are counting on us.

Take action today! Pledge to vote with workers at votewithworkers.ca.

Your voice and your vote can make a difference this election.

In solidarity,

Karen Ranalletta

President, CUPE BC
